Sille İlkokul’u, bugün Konya şehir merkezinin 8 km kuzeybatısında bulunan Sille’de, mübadele zamanı neredeyse tamamen terk edilmiş ve dokusunun büyük bir kısmı erimiş eski bir Rum-Osmanlı köyünde yer alıyor. Okul, aynı arazide, kendinden neredeyse 100 yıl önce var olan eski bir han yapısının izlerini takip ediyor. Onun informal bir rekonstrüksiyonu.
Sille Primary School is located 8 km northwest of Konya city center in Sille, an old Greek-Ottoman village which was almost completely abandoned and destroyed during the population exchange. The school follows the traces of a historical Han that existed almost 100 years ago on the same plot.

Okulun taş duvarlarla örülen basit ve katı geometrisi ahşap strüktürün esnek yapısı ile serbestleşiyor. Geleneksel ahşap kagir duvarlar irili ufaklı hacimler yaratacak şekilde farklı açıklıklarda diziliyor.Vadi boyunca devam eden derenin doğu kıyısında kalan eğimli bir araziye yerleşiyor.
The simple and strict geometry of the stone is stretched by the flexible structure of the wood. Traditional wooden walls are positioned differently to create large and small volumes..It is located on a slope on the east bank of the stream that continues along the valley.
Geleneksel ahşap kagir duvarlar irili ufaklı hacimler yaratacak şekilde farklı açıklıklarda diziliyor. Orta avlu zig-zag formunda ahşap bir arkadla sarılıyor. Bu avluya bakan koridorlar öğrenciler için hem bir teneffüs hem de bir hazırlık alanı sağlıyor.
Traditional wooden walls are positioned differently to create large and small volumes. The central courtyard is surrounded by a zig-zag shaped arcade. The corridors overlooking this courtyard provide both a recess and a preparation area for students.
Sille İlkokulu, hem tektonik ifadesi hem de kamusal eğitim programı ile yüzyıl başından bu yana eriyen yerel dokunun onarımı için bir adım. Tarihi bir yapıdan referansla günümüz ihtiyaçlarına cevap verecek şekilde, geleneksel ve çağdaş teknikler bir arada kullanılarak tasarlanan bina geçmiş ve bugün arasında bir diyalog kurma hedefini taşıyor.
Sille School, with both its tectonic expression and education program, is a step towards the rehabilitation of the local fabric that has been melting since the 1900s.The building, which provides the latest requirements with a reference to a historical building, and designed with both traditional and contemporary techniques, aims to establish a dialogue between the past and the present.
