Vilnius National Concert Hall

2019

Located amidst the cultural axis of Gediminas, Naujamiestis and historic town, Tauras Hill is an untouched piece of nature, a panoramic city terrace and a multi-functional urban topography. We decipher Tauras Hill as both a fluent natural belt stitching different fragments of the city center, and a static piece of green, easily reachable from those fragments.  We imagine National Concert Hall as a Garden Pavillion marking Tauras Hill. Transparent, luminous and porous. A modest glass prism under daylight, a sparkling amber stone at night.

Vilnius City Municipality

Our aim is to intervene Tauras Park surface and topography as minimum as possible, while providing visitors of the park and concert hall, alternative routes in different slopes and lengths. Thus we can carry Tauras Hill forward into the future as it was placed in the memory of the city and the citizens.

National Concert Hall is a multifunctional art and culture center. With its flexible and effective organisation of spaces, it claims to lodge rich facilities for the children and young people to meet, discuss and produce together in a place merged with the surrounding park and the city.
